A unique perspective might be one of the first things to call your attention when it comes to Eloa Defly. Today, based in Montreal, the aspiring architect has had quite a journey and promises it is just the beginning.
Son of an African father and a Canadian mother, he grew up playing with Legos and drawings. Little did he know that his early passions would take him around the world.
Eloa studied Architecture in Macau S.A.R China and his sensitivity for compositions and proportions lead him to get involved with photography. "Asia was home for my first photo exhibition named Urban Fabrics and since then my photographic career has taken off” he affirms.
As every trip enriched his knowledge and creativity, he traveled around five continents and had a remarkable time specially in Japan, Italy and Brazil. So far his adventures has gathered over 20 thousand followers on Instagram, countless prints and a very international friend list.
“Architecture and Photography complement each other” he adds, as he persistently extends his portfolio as an architectural designer and eagerly awaits to get his hands on his architecture license.
When asked about what inspires him to continue to design and create he explains: “ When I was ten years old, I got glasses to correct my myopia and I remember feeling overwhelmed by how beautiful the world appeared. Now, I can’t imagine having my sight taken away. That’s why I love sharing my point of view whether it is in a design or a photograph.”
If you have stumbled upon @eloadefly's work, it is safe to say there is more to it than meets the eye. There is a discernible signature in what he captures, yet his art manages to be refreshing. It is inspiring to say the least and Eloa is definitely one to watch.
